The Husky Hustle is back at Thoreau! On May 13 all students will participate in a fun outdoor event to help raise money to support the Thoreau PTG. This fundraiser empowers students to raise money for our school. We have worked hard to come up with a fun, inclusive event and have partnered with MyBooster.com for an engaging platform. We think Thoreau students will have fun setting up their page, sharing with family and friends, and will feel proud that they are able to contribute to the wonderful programming put on by the PTG.

We heard you
If you were at Thoreau during the 2023-2024 school year you probably remember the Husky Hustle Glow Run. This served as a kick off to the incredible fundraising effort to create Thoreau’s Backyard playground. Through the Husky Hustle the PTG was able to donate $20,000 to the playground. We’ve taken the great things about that fundraiser and removed the elements that weren't a great fit for our community.
Instead of plastic trinkets for prizes; we'll have grade-level and school-wide incentives such as extra recess, pizza lunch with the principal, popsicle parties, and even a chance to tape Principal Sparks to a wall!
The PTG is using Booster's online fundraising platform only, not the marketing team; this will allow the PTG to direct much more funding to all of the great activities we organize throughout the year. (The online site does come with a cost, however, so for larger donations, you can give directly to the PTG to avoid the 15% surcharge -- we'll make sure your kiddo gets the credit!)
What will this event look like?
Instead of a ‘Glow Run’ this event is focused on outdoor movement that is inclusive and fun for all. The BOKS team will help us execute the event on Wednesday May 13 (Rain date May 20) and will lead the children on a scavenger hunt that involves mental and physical challenges and an opportunity to create nature-based art.
