The Concord Band and conductor, Jim O'Dell, present Bandemonium!, a musical event for children and families. This year, we are proud to feature Music Together facilitator, Vic Lalli, for an interactive musical experience. Presenting a variety of popular works, including Kpop Demon Hunters, Disney classics, and pop hits, it's a celebration of concert band you won't want to miss! Geared towards kids grades K-5, attendees are invited to join in the music-making through movement, sing-alongs, and exploration of band instruments. The Cognitive Neuroscience Group at MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston is recruiting children between the ages of 7 and 12 years to participate in a research study funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the learning abilities of children with typical and atypical language development. The study will involve a 30-minute Zoom session and 2-3 in-person visits lasting 2-3 hours each. During the visits, children will complete standardized assessments and computer games while we record their electrical brain activity using a noninvasive technique called EEG. Participants receive free parking, a fun prize at the end of every visit, a test score report, and $200 for completing the study. In addition to the study’s basic incentives, we are also offering up to $50 for travel reimbursement, a $40 meal voucher, and an optional consultation with our lab’s Speech-Language Pathologist to discuss your child’s performance on our cognitive and language standardized tests.
More information can be found at here or you can contact our lab’s research coordinators, Kelsey and Annika, at 617-724-7363 or cnglead@mghihp.edu
