Welcome to the Thoreau 2026-2027 Fifth Grade Events Page
We are looking forward to a wonderful year of memories for our 5th graders! Throughout the year, we will organize various activities/initiatives, and we may reach out for volunteers to support us in various ways. Please consider volunteering your time in whatever way works best for you.
While we enjoy incredible support from the PTG, 5th grade events require additional funding. We ask parents/guardians to consider donating $40 to support this year's events and activities. These include
- Thoreau Class of 2027 T-shirts
- The yearbook and other moving up materials
- The end of year Kimball's outing (Monday, June 14, 2027)
All children will have a chance to participate in these activities regardless of donation amount. The annual 5th grade movie/social night occurs on a weekend and those who are able to attend will pay for that event directly (financial assistance is also available for this event).
Three quick action items for parents/caregivers:
- Consider donating to 5th grade events via this link on membership toolkit. $40 is a suggested amount; you are welcome to donate more, less, or nothing at all. We are grateful to any family who feels comfortable contributing more than the suggested amount to perhaps help cover another family.
- Save the date for Monday, June 14th for Kimball’s farm. Everyone looks forward to this fun end of year event when the 5th graders will be transported to and from Kimball’s during the school day.
- Start collecting fun pics of Thoreau memories to include in the 5th grade yearbook! The Yearbook team will be sending an email in the coming weeks requesting photos! Look out for an email with more details from: thoreauschoolyearbook@gmail.com.
